coil spring help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought some coil springs from Antique Chev Parts in Toronto last year, part # 1#45H0013 and 1#45H2071 for my 61 pontiac, anyway had them put on Monday and probably had a mild heart attack after seeing the car. Instead of having 24 and a half inches from the floor to the top of the wheel well of the front fender with the old ones I ended up with 22inches with the new ones, now for the back end, this gets interesting, look at the feature car of the month, well my back end if higher yet. Shocks are maxed out to the end. What went wrong??????--Are front coils shorter or higher than rears.??????????????????????????????????

Front coils are longer than the rears, they are also smaller in diameter. Should be impossable to install rears in the front.

I had a 73 corvette 454 auto that sat a "little" low in the front so I order new ones at GM back in the day-the parts guy recommends small block as the big blocks will sit it to high-but I don't listen-I get the right ones-and----------------it sits another inch lower !!!! I added blocks.

then I had a 72 Lemans Sport with 350 chev-I order the right ones-and it sits like a 4 x 4 !

needless to say no luck here with springs
