1957 Pontiac Memphian ambulance

Very rare Pontiac Memphian ambulance; only one made by the Memphis Coach Company in 1957.  Approx. 95% original. 
Raised roof with tunnel pod headlights and siren
Lights in the front bullets on the grill
Five-door, all lock; four of them are keyed
Post holes for signs in back doors
14 windows, 2 of which are corner-windows; frosted ambulance insignia on rear windows; pull-down blinds for back side windows;
Cot with cot-lock
2 folding attendants chairs in back
50s blankets included
Memphian insignia on front fenders
Vintage-style whitewall tires
Vintage-style hubcaps
Have some paper info on the car
$20,000 or trade

Cool, different.
Would that be the real colour? If so, I guess not all ambulances were/are red & white.
I know early fire trucks were not red.

These two don't seem to be ambulance colours either. They talk a lot about military ambulances on the website.
I wonder if there is any military identification (serial#/ID #) on the ambulance for sale? You would probably be able to trace it's movements through military records.

It looks like these modern "crossover" vehicles are nothing new. That Pontiac, not to knock it, looks like a morph between a Pontiac & a bus.

I think Superior used to build a lot of ambulance bodies for those large commercial Pontiac chassis's. Yup, Pontiacs & Cadillacs.
