1966 Pontiac Grande Parisienne. $1200.00 obo

The car is a cream colored 4 door Hardtop. The interior is in decent condition, but will mostly likely need to be restored.

The car is good running condition, The engine is a strong running 235ci 6 cylinder. Their is no visible leaks on or around the engine.

The transmission is a 2 speed automatic that shifts good and has no visible leaks.

The brakes are new, the tires are in decent condition and the body has some surface rust. The only major problem that I can see is that the back window is broken. Their are some extra parts in the trunk.

This car would make a GREAT restro project or a parts car.

The car can be heard in Spruce Grove, Alberta. If there are any questions or you would like to view it , please call me at 780.914.3777

If I am not mistaken, a 6 was not available in a 66 Grande Parisienne from the factory.

I tend to agree with you Carl on the six matter but seems odd someone would take a 283 or 327 out in favour of a 235 doesn't it?

In his book Catalog of Canadian Car I.D. Numbers the author Bill Watson shows only a v-8 version of the Grande Parisienne.

SimilarlyGM Parts Catalog No692 does not list a 6-cyl.

Exactly. There is no listed model code anywhere for a 6 cyl in a Grande Parisienne.

So who's going to request a pic of the data plate for the registry?

I wish I didn't have to see the bottom line (less than 100 with 4 speed) It makes me miss my old car again...

If it's any consolation I think your car still lives somewhere in Ontario. I saw it for sale there in the early 90s I believe.

Yes, I was able to contact the owner almost 2 years ago. He says never for sale but at least I know where it is and it's being appreciated. The guy I sold it to had no idea what he had.

Sadly, I did have a pretty good idea, yes! I used the 10% rule (US sells about 10 times what Canada does) and the 66 Grand Prix in the US is 916 4 speeds I think is the number. So I had always figured it was under 100. I'd seen two other 4 speeds at that time, one a 396 burned to a crisp and one very rotten 327. Mine was a 396 originally. I put a 427 in it and when I sold it for $5300 in 1989, I likely had less than that in it including 4 year old paint and a fresh engine! Oh, the old days of musclecars....

I recall your Acadian being for sale when it still had a 427 back then too. Glad you still have it! Mabye not as rare as the 66GP with a 4 spd but I still think the Acadian is nicer.

I have to say a 427 is a lot more suited to a Grande Parisienne than a 6 cyl would be.

Well as usual....you Guys are Correct!!! They did not make a Grande Parisienne with a six cylinder in a 2 door or 4 door. There were only 4 motors available..283, 327, 396, 427...the later being the one I wish I had!!! And there was extra horse power options on the 396, but I forget the exact numbers...I would need to look them up again if anyone needs them.
Still...... a good price for a driver that needs a back window!!!! Wouldn't it make a great sleeper after you Drop a big block in it. After all, we know theres enough room!!

I didn't remember any 396 other than the 325 horse being listed (which mine was originally) but I know the 427 is also listed as a 425 horse besides the standard horsepower 427.

As always, correction welcomed....

Any response from the seller yet?  I'm still curious about this one.

I'm imagining it must be a regular Parisienne with a six?  I'm also assuming that the "235" is actually a 230 or 250??
