Ad is gone but 1970 was the first year GM Canada offered the Executive in Canada, basically a lower level Bonneville on the long wheelbase shared with Bonneville.

Probably Canadian sold, they came with US blue engines as described. Catalina was offered as well in 1970. There is a Tornto City Buick sold Catalina in my area, owner has had it since new.

Just a thought to clarify here, being factory equipped w/ the Pontiac 455 would this car have the larger 5x5 wheel pattern...yes even though it's a pre '71 style car!.

I'd always thought the Poncho engined cars were all American built until learning otherwise here so the whole Canadian built w/ Poncho power thing may throw yet another loop into this but I recall 69/70 B-Body cars had the small pattern when factory equipped w/ a SBC and the larger pattern when Poncho engined?.

Anyone know for sure?.

My Catalina is American with the 350 American engine, larger wheels and the typical American undercarriage but was built at St. Terese.

But I am sure that the American made cars wouldn't have small blocks, not that I have seen, anyways...?

The link is now good. I re-posted as I thought it was removed for the bad link, the link is good, and the thread was moved. Feel free to move/edit/delete either post.

Cool info!.

Being your car's Canadian built and factory Poncho powered also has the big wheel pattern pretty much clarifies things!.

So until proven otherwise are we safe to expect regardless of where built all 1970  B-Body cars factory equipped w/ a 'Pontiac engine' have the large 5x5 pattern wheels and related parts ?.

Surely something to consider especially if swapping rear axles into one of our beloved Canadian Ponchos or Chevys...brake parts etc too!.

I wasn't questioning if any American built B-Body cars were SBC and don't believe any ever were..

PS - Is that your 65/66 Chev 2-Dr. Post car in the background of your pic?.
Please tell us it's yours and a factory 409 car!.

Is this one Canadian? Do you have the trim tag?
