65 beaumont tach wire location

well.. I had such a great response about the console that I need to put this out there as well.
The restoration place is getting close to starting the car and would like to know where the wire for the tach comes into the engine compartment.  is it a separate hole in the firewall?  or does it come through with some other wires.  I personally believe its a single wire through the firewall just under the wire gutter, and has a small grommet to prevent water leaks..

a photo would be awesome!!!

thanks again for all the responses and help with the console.. excellent!!!!

Kelly

I struggled to find something that would help. I finally found the 66 tach wire on the microfiche but nothing there for the 65.

Then I had a lot of trouble finding a picture of a firewall to show you where it is! I think I have something that will at least help but I don't know for sure that 65 66 and 67 firewalls are the same. If they are, then the white dot just below the wire harness plastic gutter is the spot. There should be a dimple there and the hole is 1/2" and if I am right, there is a special grommet that the wire runs through (bit of a unique design). In this picture to the left of that spot you can see the 2 pin connector on the firewall. This must be a factory 4 speed car as that 2 pin harness would be for the backup lights. Is this where your backup harness comes out as well?

Just trying to confirm that 67 and down use the same system.
