LOOKS PRETTY GOOD. A LITTLE ELBOW GREASE, NOT MUCH MONEY, YOU WOULD HAVE A REAL SWEETHEART OF A CAR. OR JUST DRIVE AS IS.

Smells like a 409 bench 4spd car to me! Sure looks like a deal. Make a great driver while putting a drivetrain together.

I was thinking the same thing. It already has the pedals and we know the motor will fit.

Plus one! Very nice looking car. If it's as nice as it looks, that is a great deal for someone.

I looked up the town where this car is located and was sure surprised how far north it is. From Calgary, it would take me over 9hrs to get to it. It looks to be east and quite a bit north of Saskatoon. If anyone is really interested in it, I can make the journey. Sure be nice if someone on CP would get a hold of it.

Just saying.....the 327 was the largest engine offered in 1962, no 348 and no 409 until 63.

I have a friend an hour away from there. His sister lives there.

Remember the white 65 Strato (or Laurentian) 2 door post in a wrecking yard, tiny bit of snow on the ground in the picture? Same town.

Did anybody ever look at this?  The ad hasn't been cancelled yet so it appears that it's still for sale.

The Laurentian 2 dr ht is not really common. I've only seen two in person - a fawn one for sale in Barrie Ontario about 10 years ago, and another one cut up in 4 pieces in the woods about an hour away from where I live.

Looks to be in very good shape; put in a W motor and a 4 speed & build it the way GM should have.

Just because GM made a mistake not using the W engine in it doesn't mean the buyer can't make it right!!!

Doesn't anyone see the charm and historical significance of leaving these cars as they were built?

Yes, but I have found over the years that I'm allergic to 6 cylinder cars.

I realize they need to be kept original but the 60's cars are so undriveable with their underpowered 6's.

Sorry, you 6 cyl owners....

my 62 with the 261 and glide was real peppy around town,,,,,but on the highway , it just sounded I was pushng it too hard....I know I wasn't hurting it ,,,but the sound !!!!

I guess that's why Billy had the 409 put into it,,,must have been the sound !

...if this car's as good underneath as it appears outside, what a great place (and price) to start from. Even a 350 crate engine w/a 4 spd. would be a fairly inexpensive and easy way to make this a really nice (and pretty rare..) cruiser. Always liked the
62's. Really nice, clean lines. Loved Fireball Roberts' car in NASCAR. I remember an auto writer recently saying he thought the '61/'62 Pontiac bubbletops were some of the most beautiful cars to ever come out of post-war Detroit. Wonder if it spent all its life up in northern Sask? If so, probably not much salt got to it. It's amazing how well these old cars will stand up if they can escape road salt....! I remember when we first moved to BC and I saw all these great unrestored old cars just driving around (even passed a guy in a still-on-the-road '61 Falcon yesterday). Even with all the water they got poured on them they were still in one pretty decent piece! It's not the sun or the rain...it's the salt.

Yes, and the sound is the other thing.

A V8 is the sweetest sound there is. One reason I prefer a Vette over a Viper is the sound (as if I'll ever even get to sit in either one of them.......)!
