'76 LeMans with a NACA hood

http://truro.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1976-Pontiac-Le-Mans-Coupe-W0QQAdIdZ228036127

I didn't think the NACA hood fit the '76-77 LeMans, did he make it?

Thanks cupedition. I saw that Canamman77 also has a similar NACA hood on one of his 76-77 LeMans cars. I believe the '73-75 round headlight hoods don't fit on the 76-77 cars.

First off I want to point out that the article from Pontiac Enthusiast on the 4 sped 73 GTO correctly calls this style hood NASA type, which is how GM described it in all of it's literature biggrin

Next the hood will fit the 76/77 cars but the leading edges and not shaped correctly for rectangular head lights and need to be modified to take out the rounded and slightly depressed area that go over the round headlights of the pre 76 design.  Alternatively you could start with a 76 hood and graft in the scoop section from a 75 and earlier scooped hood. Either case requires a lot of patience and thought. This is actually only the second one I have seen and it does look very good as already stated.

Looking closer at the photo reveals that in this case the hood that was used was either a 73 or 74 because it has cowl vents, and must have been modified to fit at the headlight area imo.
