Oops... you're absolutely right!  My apologies for posting this... I just went back up to read the rules and had totally zoned out on the price thing.  Feel free to remove this thread at your discretion.

Great looking rake and turbo thrust wheels.

Was 1970 the last year for the Strato Chief? Did they all come with cloth interior or was vinyl an option?

Did Laurentians have slightly more chrome trim and a little fancier interior?

Email sent to seller requesting price and more info.

I sort of like the way this one is.
I was never really a fan of those models because of those lights/lamps in the front. But he kind of made it have a mean look with the tint and rims.

Do you mean the 2 chrome bezels between the center bumper and the inside high beam headlamps? If so, the horns are behind them.........

Yes, thats them!

I remember when I went to a car show a long while ago. A guy tried to sell me a 70 Pontiac. Aside from the whole in the floor, some reason, those two bezels turned me off. Its same thing like the 73 Caddys had. That it makes it look too cluttered heaving 3 lights/lamps on them.

But like I said as well. I guess its how you make the car. This one seems to stand out better and get your eye off it.

1970 was indeed the last year for the Strato Chief. It used Chevy Biscayne seats & door panels. As a 2-door it even outlasted the Biscayne 2-door by a year.

They came with cloth & vinyl but all-vinyl was available.

The Laurentian was a step above it. Externally the Laurentian added a body-side molding.

Personally I haven't seen another 1970 Strato Chief in decades. When I lived in downtown Toronto in the mid-1980s there was a 1969 Strato Chief 2-door that soon had body work (crude sheet metal pop riveted outside the rusted front fenders, then brush painted over everything including all nameplates).

Thanks for that Cam.

I guess the demise of the Strato Chief in '70 and the Biscayne in '69 indicated the evolving taste of the Canadian auto buying public. In the '50s and early '60s lots of people purchased stripper automobiles. With more affluence and likely two family incomes as time went on people had more loose change to spend on a car. This was reflected in the huge Olds Cutlass sales in the mid-late '70s. Personally, I really like the base models like this.

when i got my hardtop in 1999, there was a girl working at the local pick-your-part that drove an all black 70 Strato Chief.  If I recall, it was a 350 (but might have been a 6), but I know it had a 3 speed manual tranny.  Very plain car, but haven't seen it in about 10 years.
