Need Decoding Of Block #s Please

I've got conflicting info. (3 blocks) on these from websites.

front block casting #            rear block casting #

(1) V151576                         3756519
(2) K11 23 GF                       3896944
(3) K 01 17 DE                      3849852

Thanks, Darryl

Your front #'s are actually the stamped #'s off the machined pad and not castings, right?.
If so casting dates and other info can clarify further but they all appear to be basic passenger car 283's..
The first one casting # 3756519 is probably worth the most as the same block casting # was used in 283 Vettes!.
If the stamped #'s indicate a basic car, w/ the block decked and #'s removed it could be valuable as a 'Vette block to someone the casting dates are correct for?.

1) V151576 - 3756519 - 283 - 58-62

2) K11 23 GF - 3896944 - 283 - 65? 195 Hp 2 Bbl.

3) K 01 17 DE - 3849852 - 283 - 62? 195 Hp 2 Bbl.

Google!.

Seriously, any and all sites seem to have their useful info and mistakes but I use lots I have in my fav's also other info I've saved over the years including books also a few notes on scraps of paper too!.

On your 3756519 casting, not necessarily rare but it may be worth searching online for any 'Vette guys that may need one?.
Best get your casting dates clarified first though also try and get the stamped info identified to be sure exactly what you have..
It'd sure be nice if you found someone here in Canada that needs it also less hassle for them too!.

I used to use Mortec, but it seems to be gone. It was the best. I also used Nasty Z28 but it's a mess too. I often just google part numbers and casting numbers with very good success actually.

Chevrolet by the Numbers is absolutely the best and most accurate source for decoding casting numbers.
The author of these books was forturnate enough to be one of the few that GM allowed access to their archives and engineering drawings.
There is nothing worse than buying something and finding out it isn't correct for your application.
