With those wheels and fender skirts you'd swear it was an American Pontiac. I'm trying to figure out how that 350 emblem is mounted with the body side moulding. It looks like it overlaps it.

just going by the brochure

350V8 right location. beltline wrong location for a 2+2. should follow the lower crease line on the body. that belt line that is on it is correct for a parisienne and laurentian

my wife likes the fender skirts.

Nice looking car with the exception of that side molding. Pretty good chance I'd lose the white walls and the wheels too. What do the correct wheel covers look like for a 70?

My convertible had a similar body side moulding on when I got it, it was the first thing to come off.  It also had a pinstripe that followed the upper edge of the side panels from front to back, came off the same time as the body side moulding.

Was the side molding stock? i just scanned this from the brochure. my intensions are to go with the wheelwell trim but no side or trunk molding or pinstripping

The 2+2 did not have the body side mouldings like the Parisienne's and Laurentians had, just the decals that ran from front to back and around the wheel openings.  Typically it was black/white, except the red cars used grey/white.   (I think another color also used grey/white but I can't remember what body color).

To me, the stripes make the car as the rear 1/4s are so big without them.   My convertible was bare for a month or so before I had the stripes applied, and the rear 1/4s looked pretty bare without any trim.

I have pencil rubbings on computer paper of the side & trunk stripes.  You can use them when necessary and take them along with the car to a stripe shop and they can duplicate.  (they've been used by a couple other individuals, even as far away as New Jersey)

yup, and don't even bother trying to unbolt them from this position, you'll never get your arm in the fender.    On a 2+2, they're easily accessible.

I knew those rally wheels look funny in the drawing. Anyone spot the reason why?

It's a drawing for crying out loud, I enlarged the photo 400% and they look pretty good to me, besides you have no idea what GM gave the artist to draw. That brochure was probably drawn in May or June 1969 for September release.

The side moldings on the 2+2 were added at the dealer.   I started out in the 70's striping cars for various dealers all over BC. Also added side moldings, hubcaps, and various other things to cars sitting on the lot to 'move' them.
