Yes this is an interesting car. As far as "nick names" go only the 2 door hardtop was referred to as a Bubble Top as NOS says. The 2 dr. sedan is a "Bat Wing" and the 4 dr. hardtop is a "Flat Top" or "Vista Roof"

I think the 4 dr sedan got left out, but if we call it a "4 dr post" I think we would all know what it is. Good car though.

I like the bubble top 4 door sedan moniker as well. If you really look at the photos of this car, the roof actually has the same exact look as a a 2 door hardtop roof. You can not say that about some of the other 1960 body styles. I am sticking with it, never the less a fine looking automobile. Where else can you find that much fun for $5.500. Cheers. George.

The back window will interchange between the 2 and 4 door.

Isn't the Bat Wing only only a 61 and up term?

I haven't ever seen it used on 60 and older.

The first thing i would do to this sweet Ponch, is pull off those silly looking wheels. Put some stock rims with full wheel covers and wide white walls on her. Then drop the rear to proper height. Then go cruising in proper dignified style. Cheers. George.

Over here in New Zealand we call them a Laurentian 4 door sedan, which was the only model we recieved. Most of them with the 261ci engine, but the occasional 283 came through. Your 60 bears a striking resemblance to mine here in NZ.

I had one of those back in the late 60's 6cyl. auto 4 dr. only 6 I ever had [2 weeks] Dam thing burn't 2 qts. of oil on the starter mtr. then the rest of what was left in the pan when it fired up. Couldn't see for smoke but made a "great" bug killer!!!! Maybe thats what made me "NOT" like 6's Took forever to get up to 40mph with all the "spare" oil in the trunk.
