1967 Beaumont SD - Appraised $75000.00 asking $48000.00 (Auto Trader 29/12)

Just posting for Sh*ts and giggles.  The owner may be here. Everyone has their opinions on appraisals, but I am glad to see a Beaumont nearing Chevelle dollars, even if it is just at the asking stage.  I dont have any pics as I just found it in the current trader. Its black and damn beautiful.

that depends on how reading it makes you feel.....I expect most will just move on to something more interesting, some will say it deserves every penny (mostly us 67 Beaumont owners), others will say its a pipe dream and he needs to chop it in half if he really wants to sell it. I just posted it for a future benchmark.

Yes, that is the one in the Trader. I cant commment on the appraisal, but my 'licenced' appraiser knew nothing. I found out later that he was generally a damage appraiser, and it showed in his antique appraisals. He couldnt even tell a first time DIY paint job from a well done professional job when they were parked side by side. I know I'm getting off topic but, I love cool cars, and respect people with a lot of cool car knowledge, and now the first time I need to hire one, he turns out to be a joke.

Hmmm... i liked that car in blue better! But when a car is a rare car and especially if it has the original motor, then painting it back into original colours makes sense (the black and blu cars are twins! less side side stripes/seats).

The black car with non-original motor and colours ends up a being a custom car (resto-mod) for the most part, to be appraised at $75k it would have to look like someone dropped $125k on the resto, and have lots of high end parts, and perfect paint-body.... As an insurance 'replacement value', $75k doesn't seem to out of line...certainly a sell price is something totally different.

I may be out to lunch with prices as i havent done this in a while, but i'd think $10-15k or a starter SD body, $15k+ for body and paint, add more for floors etc, $10k engine, another $10k misc + assembly labour... my numbers must be low somewhere? -this is if you are signing blank cheques and not turning any wrenches...

Glad to see the blue one restored

looks like I saved another one-this one sat in a garage in north welland since 1987 after an amatuer quickie in the Falls a year before

I actually bought it as a parts car to steal the engine out of for my 67 Chevelle but hated to pull the number's match engine-so I put the car back together added the stripe and rallys - made a binder of all the paperwork-and David Lewis came along

If I remember the blue car was about 20,000.00?   add a restoration, and 45,000 is not too bad?

I think I sold it for 15,, I believe David originally wanted 25 for it and 40 for the red convertible.

Come to think of it I kinda indirectly saved the red one too-had I not saved the blue one and sold it to David he would not have had a boner for SD's and not found your old red one ! I gotta go to sleep my head is getting big !

getm' outta the "dream" garages !

Pardon my ignorance, but where did the red one end up? I seem to remember it was to someone on this site, but the name was kept somewhat quiet? Has it had any work done to it?
