Rick

I thought I had a shaft with the gear on it but it seems I don't.

The service manual says-

"Position the speedometer gear to get a measurement of 4 7/8" from the forward side of the gear to the flat surface of the rear bearing retainer.

Does that help at all?

Yup that does help. Just that left and the tail housing can go back on, will be ready for the shelf, LOL, Or I might get enough energy to put it in maybe by spring. Thanks Carl  smile
