Accelerator pumps-leather vs neoprene????

Any thoughts or comments?

I run rochester 1gc,  2gc, and 4 gc carbs.
The newer neoprene?  accelerator pumps seem to wear out or dry up pretty quick

I noticed that the original ones are a purple leather style

there is a guy on ebay that sells the original NOS leather ones by bulk

any thoughts on if these would be better?
Has anyone bought any of these on ebay? comments?


also, it seems all i ever have to replace is an accelerator pump, yet i have to buy the whole rebuild kit for 20 bucks every time.
So it would be nice to just buy the pump for a couple bucks instead.

MY BEAUMONT HAS 4 STUDDED TIRES AND 2 BLOCKHEATERS......AND LOTS OF OIL UNDERNEATH.  The other one has a longer roof.

LEATHER, LEATHER, LEATHER..... If you can get them BUY THEM.. The only pump that works consistantly. And for a long time as well......

Dave, do you have part numbers? If not, give me applications and I can look them up. We have a few oldies at work but not a lot. I will sure check for you.

Carl,  the ebay guy has 2 different pumps for 2GC/ 2GV rochesters.

the pump bases are 21/32   or   3/4

Any idea which is most common on carbs with # such as:
7027114
7020007
7028110

Most all of my spare 2 gc/gv  carbs are from 61-68 impala, malibu, etc.

Ever heard of the Synthetic cups ?  Just looking at the Vintage speed site , they stock two kinds for the small base carb. Say more resistant to todays fuels.
