How about a 1929 Pontiac Truck?

I just got a lead on a 1928 or 29 Pontiac Truck for Sale.( I was so excited to here it I don't remember the exact year), The owner tells me It was Built in Canada and they were only made for 2 years in the late 20's and it has a built in Canada Serial Plate on the truck, With a Pontiac Head, and Pontiac on the Dash. It has a flathead G.M motor in it. He has invited me over to take Pictures (soon) so there will be updates to this post. By the sounds of it, It's all original. Has anyone ever seen one? I didn't know there was such a thing!! He is asking $27,000...I don't know yet if it was restored, or if it's all original,  but he said it does run and drive and he has collector plates on it.....More to come....

A real truck and not a conversion from the depression. That would be cool to see.

I had a lead on one in Edmonton 3 or 4 years ago, it looked really good if I recall - I've got photo's somewhere.    In POCI's "Smoke Signals" a little earlier than that, there was a story of a guy in the US who picked one up in Saskatchewan, but it was missing some stuff.  I got talking to a guy in our local club who has a 29 Pontiac, and he gave me the lead for the one in Edmonton.

I googled 28 Pontiac truck and found for sale in Consul, Saskatchewan. Looks
like may be a conversion though. I don't know how to link to other sites but name of
the place is McMillan Customs Vehicle Grave-yard. Looks like quite a collection of
old cars and trucks all in need of restore.

 JC

ps: Could someone tell me how to do that link thing. Thanks.

I was able to download the picture.

Last year at the Frank Sisson"s Collector Car Auction 2010

There was a fully restored 1928 Pontiac Saw Truck for sale, I believe it went to $30k but no sale.

I have never seen something so beautiful, than a period truck restored to it's former glory as it was intended at that time built to do.

Even the saw equipment right down to the chain saw etc., was mint.

Buick and Olds also both built trucks "back in the day".

I wonder if it was a Pontiac T-11? It was produced in 1928-9 only. Engine: PONTIAC
6-28/6-29 L-HEAD
1928:
25.3HP
1929:
26.3HP

This was a 1/2 tonner...the 1929 T-19 was the 1-tonner version.
