As expected it looks like a Pontiac engine under the hood, not a 396 or any other Mark 1V BB Chevy motor!.
It'd be great to see the Vintage Services report on this car!.
It's not a 12Bolt is it???

I don't believe it would be a 12 bolt, I think it would be a Pontiac 10 bolt.  I believe the 12 bolts in A-bodies were strictly on the Chev chassis'd Chevelle's.

All Cutlass 442 convertibles were US built and came with with  12 bolt. I owned one for 18 years. I believe w30 cars were also 12 bolt. I'm not sure about the hardftops but I know there were some 10 bolts Canadian cars

OLDS had there own 12 bolt, 12 bolts on the cover, BUT a 10 bolt inside, used a bolt in axle, NOT like the chevy with the C clip..

I got tricked on that one with a VISTA CRUISER I bought as a donor...

Rabbit's exactly right on all above!.
Original listing noted BB 396 as Carl's posting above shows..
And yes 12Bolts were w/ the 455 cars and why I was asking..
Also correct w/ the Olds 12Bolts, covers were 12Bolt but 10 bolt ring & bolt in axles..
I've had a few of these Type O axles over the years and they're good units also some builders and drag guys still prefer and swear by them!.
I yanked a Posi unit from a '67 Cutlass about 5 years ago and sold it to a guy w/ a '66 Beaumont for $1000!.
I passed on one I spotted in a '68 Cutlass last winter at the local scrap metal yard, could've had it for less than $100 but wasn't up for the removal and lugging it around games that day..
When you find them they're sometimes a cheap way to land a decent rear in your non-Oldsie A-Body and w/ the 12Bolt cover, few will know..
Has everyone seen the adaptors that fit a 12Bolt cover to your 10Bolt?.
Kind've foolish but a neat trick!.
