a pretty good deal? a really fair price? it turns my stomach to see what is happening here with our classic car market. that car as well as many others a basically a "gift" its deals like this that drops the prices on all the rest of the classic car market. i sure hope the market picks up soon, or our hoby is really gonna suffer. that original survivor is 6-8000k underpriced. its crazy that some people will just give them away like that.

 Thats the type of response I was expecting when I posted the ad.  There isnt nearly as much disposable income in the East, but it has to be a steal! If I had the space, I'd just park it for a few years. I dont think our market is really as bad as this ad makes it appear. IMO, either something is wrong with the car, or it will sell before the weekend is out to a flipper.

I am already booked for the Nationals, and I was just given next week off, my Daughter lives in Halifax, I just rec'd an unexpected 8k and we are due for a visit. I am so damn tempted. I expect to have a new 30x80 shop up by August,  but what would I do with it til then? I've bought 7 or 8 vehicles in the last 18 months, and sold one, so space is a premium. As long as they are not 'overtaking' the wifes 'curb appeal' on our home, she is cool with it. I think it would add to the curb appeal, but I see her point.

Here a thought for a new business!!    Car covers that look like scenery  etc. 

Line up your cars  add covers that look like shrubs or fence .......

I DISAGREE. FIRST OFF, IF YOU'RE IN THE HOBBY FOR THE MONEY, YOU'RE IN IT FOR THE WRONG REASON. SECOND, OUR HOBBY IS DYING BECAUSE NOT MUCH YOUNG BLOOD IS GETTING INVOLVED IN THE HOBBY THESE DAYS, MOSTLY DUE TO PRICES THAT ARE OUT OF REACH FOR A YOUNG GUY/GAL. I WOULD SAY THE HOBBY IS ALREADY SUFFERING. SEEMS EVERYBODY WANTS THE MARKET TO PICK UP, BUT WHEN IT DOES, EVERYBODY IS GOING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE HIGH PRICES.  

i agree, but at the same time, i disagree. when you take my car, for instance. with a purchase price of $3500. that needs a full resto, my engine, and interior, i,m up to $11500. already! thats no labour! no paint & body, no exaust, no tires and rims, no mechanical upgrades, no chrome plating ect. by the time i,m finished i,ll have over $22000. in just parts! no labour! so yes, i think the market has to come up. but i think its the projects that are going for such a high price that are keeping the kids out of our hobby right now. my son is 21 yrs old. his classic car is a early 90,s v8 s10 p/u. its all he can afford. when you see a rotted out 70 chevelle ss vert in 30 different boxes, ss parts avail. at xtra cost, selling for$7500. i think thats whats hurting our hobby. people cant afford to buy the initial purchase, cause they,re priced to high. finished or driver cars are priced too low, and projects and basket cases are priced to high. there needs to be more price seperation between the 2

I think for the most part the project cars are priced quite high. I paid 1700 dollars for my car in 92. I was 19 years old. The only thing the car had going for it was a solid body. The interior had the 70,80's mods and was useless. The engine that was in it was a 396 that the owner wanted another 500 for. I already had a 67 327 so I told him to keep it. The trans was a th350 that I sold for next to nothing. 4 years later I had the car "finished" and I think the bills added up to about 15,000 and at that time I could not sell it for that but that's not what I built it for. I still have it. I think the greatest thing about Barret J is guys started restoring / saving cars that would be 20 civics by now. If the young guys are going to get back into it a 10K project car is not going to cut it. Even when I  was a kid the BB 4 speed cars were out of reach so I don't want to say this car is priced high but by the time you go through it & paint it you will not be able to sell it for the money you have into it. The car's are all 20 years older than when I did mine. The parts and cars are harder to find and priced way higher. I don't blame them for not wanting to restore a 1980's anything. I think you will find the 67 bb 4speed car is going to go to the old guy with more money.

i think my posts were taken as oposite as they were written. i dont think that car is a project, i would clean it up and drive it. i,m talkingabout the "project" cars out there that are selling for big bucks. thats whats turning the market upside down. this 66 in question is a remarkable car that is selling at far less than what it is worth.
