Steve, I can understand why your dad still has the car. It's a keeper! Arguably one of the best years for the Beaumont in my opinion, the L30 327 & 4-speed is a great all around package. So does it have a 12-bolt out back? Other Oshawa built 1967 A-body L30 M20 cars that I have seen (including a mid-November Malibu SS still with the original owner) have a the 12-bolt 3.07 rear rather than the 3.08 10-bolt.

Thanks for posting your vintage pic!

This is a link to a previous post about the car. It is a 10 bolt car and always has been. 3.36:1 non posi. The car has rally's on it now. I will try to take some more pictures when it comes out of the garage in the spring.  http://canadianponcho.activeboard.com/forum.spark?aBID=118110&topicID=33172581&p=3

Back to the discussion we've had about F40 suspension package maybe?

Does this car have F40?

Never mind, I went to that link and read the option list. I see it doesn't. I imagine that is the reason for the 10 bolt, or.......?

I don't know Carl. This car came with a saginaw and a 10 bolt. I know this sd car has a saginaw too. I wonder if it is a 10 bolt car as well? I know my dad had the car in for warranty repairs 6 times before the warranty ran out. He had to change his driving habbits a bit after that. I didn't forget about getting you those numbers off the diff, just havn't got to it yet. IMG_2043.jpg

My friend in Nebraska bought a 67 Custom here many years ago. I think he has documents. It was a 327 4 speed but it's a 12 bolt. I will see if he has a copy of the docs I can get ahold of.

Barney. Sounds like the same drive line as my dad's car. Sounds like F40 heavy duty suspension got you the 12 bolt but I wonder what was the deciding factor on Muncie vs Saginaw? sb vs bb?

My 67 327 4sp had F40 option but was still a 10 bolt rear end, I remember it well, blew it up 5 times, wasn't smart enough to put in the G80 rear end, so 1 wheel always went faster than the other.

My GM literature says, "Light duty 4-speed synchro-mesh transmission. This manually operated 4 speed transmission makes use of the 1967 3-speed housing for compactness. It is available as an option on the standard 283 V8 and the 327 cu. in. V8 option.

4-speed Synchro-Mesh option for the 396 cu.in. Econo-Jet V8. Incorporates a  damper to eliminate torsional stress and uses coarse pitched gears for increased durability."

Then on the following page under the heading "1967 Beaumont power teams, Engines, transmissions and axle ratios", it mentions that the 396 Econo-Jet has a 4 speed with 2.52:1 low gear. The small block cars have a 2.54:1 low.
