The marron L-79 Canso SD is owned by Greg in Powell River. I was offered that one, should have jumped in before he got seller`s remorse.....

greg sold his l79 car last year to a guy in langley. it was a beautiful car but the new owner was apparently planning a fresh resto. greg also had a parts car that menno came up and bought from under my nose. i'm used to him beating me to deals on acadians on the mainland ---but in my own my backyard! that hurt! hi doug, nice to hear of another powell river member. rick moss

ya, it was a nice change to sell him something instead of the other way around. between shawn and menno it's hard to beat them to the craigslist finds. damn ferries!!!

Hi Rick, PR all the way, lol. Definitely a great site with great people on here. I haven't been on long, but thoroughly enjoy all (ok most) of the chat. I had spoke with Greg
a couple of weeks ago and he said that he had sold it. That really surprised me!
Everytime I chatted with him, he was wanting to keep it. What was the other car that
he had that he sold? And did you sell something too? There's still a few kicking around
here, but mostly never come out any more........ttys........Doug.

ha ha, i can see where it might have seemed like i was name calling but anyone that knows powell river knows that we're isolated from civilization by ferries(just ask shawn). very costly and time consuming to go pick up treasures!

glad you made it home shawn. it was a beautiful day for travelling, you should have brought the acadian. it was good to see ya again and thanx for making some room in my garage.

hey doug, greg's parts car was a 66 acadian hardtop. i had told him that i was interested in buying it but for some reason he called menno and he came up and got it. i talked to menno about it and he said it was one of the worst cars he had ever bought. (he has bought close to 200 over the years) yesterday, i had sold some parts to shawn (acadiansrus) but normally i'm trying to buy acadian stuff. i have a 66 4 door invader that i'm just finishing as well as a 63 nova wagon that i'm going to start in the next couple of months. i also have a 67 2 door invader that i'll build after the wagon(if i live that long)! i'm addicted, what can i say. rick

I know the wagon has good parts. As for dudes crossing lines and taking cars, it happens all the time but carma usually takes care of them.

ya, those nice wagon parts will turn that ho-hum nova into a classy acadian invader wagon. as far as the taking cars comment goes, i meant no disrespect to menno. he's a great guy that has been good to me and had every right to buy the car. i was a little dissappointed when the seller said he would let me know when he was ready to sell the car and them turned around and called menno. the car was located about 5 minutes from my house and menno had to spend hundreds of dollars and all day drving to get it. that's just the way it goes!

yup i only had to dig around thehis yard and five out builds to find all of it tons of parts and just about half the asking price what to do what to do with it all

that l79 was once a friend of mines car 30 years ago , the guy that bought the l79 from van island was the guy with the 67 cheetah 427, the car is now back where it came from vancouver, its a cool car !
