I'm not posting this to offend anyone. I just like to post viewpoints from all ends of the old car hobby spectrum. This has to be at the far end of the spectrum of sellers who sell based solely on perceived potential. Good luck is all I have to say. My wifes family left her a "priceless" treasure too, I havent got the heart to tell her that her family lied to her and its almost worthless. ;)

hey i got an 1949 mercury monarch sedan, don't know much about the car, grandfather left it too me when i was young and I'm looking to sell it i'm asking 8000$ but i'm open to all offers, let me know what you got, dont be afraid to offer. its a great solid car would be awesome if restored. has wheels and frame is good condition, only surface rust throughout the whole car. original lights and interior dash and so on, couldn't get great pics but you have an idea of what it looks like and i could get better ones as soon as the snow melts, its the 4 door not the 2 door, it is suicide doors also which makes it very rare. this type of vehicle goes for anywhere from 50000 - 80000$ when restored the trees you see around it didn't damage the vehicle in anyway i made sure of it. its actually sitting over top of it.. anyway let me know what you got open to all offers and or trades let me know thanks
we can figure out how to transport it to where ever you are too if needed.

Yeah, I know about that.  I have some heirloom gold jewellery; 'cept it's brass.  No one needs to know.giggle.gif

My In-laws are always giving my wife & I "treasures and heirlooms".

We always take the stuff that they give us, and say thanks with a smile, because 1 out of every 50+ items is actually of value to us. Luckily, my wife and I are realists, we agree on things ... she has no sentimental value or attachment to her parents stuff. If this wasn't the case, we'd have a house busting at the seams (not that we don't already have a lot of our own things).

We put the unwanted items in a big box, and once we get enough, it's off to Value Village or The Salvation Army.

Back to the Monarch......

It was Grandpa's shootin' car, he used to slug some lead at it when he was bored.

Only three payments left on it when he passed on.....

Of course it has sentimental value.........  smile

suicide doors do not make it rare since all four door 49 Mercs have suicide rear doors.

This guy is dreaming in Technicolor!  $800.00 is a more realistic value.

That car (if its still somewhat solid) will still get $2500 all day long. Lots of people want those merc's. I sas a 4 door rot box get $1500 and it broke in half when the guy was winching it onto his trailer. He was still happy with his purchase.

What some people don't realize is that those 50,000-80,000 dollar barret jackson cars have $125,000 sunk into them!
