Sweeet!! 1966 Chevelle SS 396 34,000 miles, 4 speed

This, if true, is a nice find!!! 1966 Chevelle SS 396 with only 34,000 miles on it. Good options. Chevrolet Chevelle Great color, hmmmm..... One thing, can someone just verify that those are the right tailights? Just curious about that thanks.......

I wonder if this is one of the cars out of Peters personal collection. He's got some cool stuff including vintage race cars. A good friend builds his engines. This is Peter Baljet Chevrolet in Duncan. I just drove past this on Monday morning. Should have stopped in to say hi!

No, I haven't driven the wagon in over a year.

I was driving the 'Urban Warrior', my 92 Astro AWD work van. I made 2 round trips on the ferry in 4 days. I worked Sat and Sun in Victoria, Monday in Parksville, North Van on Tuesday, and back to Parksville on Tues night to finish there.

Picked up a cooler full of crabs at a wholesalers in Van and headed home to a friends house for a crab feast, and back in my own bed on Wed. night.

I have no work booked until May 4-6, and that's in Calgary. So I'm going to try to get the wagon BC certified and on the road by then.

Hey John, you're a busy guy, what do you do for work that you travel so much?

I do contract work for sign and graphics companies that are not based here. I have customers in Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Vancouver and a couple from the US. I look after their obligations in western Canada.

Recent work has been for Indigo/Chapters, Connect Hearing, Party Packagers, North American Construction, AMA, BC Hydro, Fortis BC, Klemke Mining, Canadian Freightways, Ventures West, The Brick,  and so on. I also redo boat and motor home graphics here in the south Okanagan.

I took on the traveling part after my marriage tanked. I needed to be busy all the time. Didn't want to fall into the bottle.

Just my opinion but I would've put the OEM valve covers, air cleaner back on.The polished intake does nothing for me. A quick beadblast would cure that.It would appear to be a 360 hp version if the intake is original.Couldn't get a 375 hp until the next year. A very beautiful car indeed for reasonable money.

The taillites are right but the CHEVELLE emblem is missing in the middle of the mouldings. The 360 HP models had a cast intake, not aluminum, some had a holley some had the Qjet . There were a few 375 Hp cars in 66 but not many.

Wow, what a fountain of knowledge in this club. If a person was going to drop some big coin on a set of wheels, they would certainly be wise to take some photos of it first and post on here for input if they had the time frame to do it..........for sure!!

I had a dark green '66 Chevelle when I met my wife, 327 / 285hp 4 speed, knee knocker tach and a wood wheel. I think about that car every time I look at her engagement ring...

If I'm dropping $30 g's, it had better be in almost excellent condition.....no missing parts....... ( I don't care if it's a $5.00 part or a $2.00 part), if I wanted something to work on, I'd spend $5,000 not $30,000.........just a thought.

At least you have something to remind you of it. I was a little cheap on that but she still puts up with me.  Lots of guys just have a picture or 2.

I know where there's one in BC(396) SS Malibu sitting for over 25 years. All original and complete and the owner is so elusive that nobody knows where it is now.I had a chance to buy it in '93 for a measly price of $1000!! Thought it was too much.Passed on it.I tried to buy it a few winters ago for double the money but he wanted to take the BB out and put it in his truck. Then he would've sold it to me.There's alot of "rednecks" from where I'm from.I blame it on too much inbreeding.Shoulda-coulda-woulda's.Too late,so sad.

in 1995 I bought a complete original numbers match 1967 beaumont SD 396 350 hp 4 speed running with 90000 miles from the original owner for $2900. The year before in 1994 I bought a nice driver western 1967 SD396 325 hp auto for $6900. But that was then
