It looks like a nice car, but likely out of my range.

Thanks Mike, I wonder if it is a LS4 or LS5?  Be nice if one of us get the car here on Canadian Poncho.  Keep it in the family so to speak.  I know I would buy it, just waiting for seller

Hillar's story said this " As I mentioned in the Member's Rides Section, the car came with exactly 4 options: LS4 454, THM400, AM/FM and cruise control.  No power steering or power brakes.  Apparently the original owner had ordered a whole series of cars like this, to make for comfortable, relaxed cruises to Florida each winter. "

IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY IT IS A LS4 THAT HE WAS GOING TO BUILD TO LS5 SPECS. FOR THE F.A.S.T. (FACTORY APPEARING STOCK TIRES) RACES. I WOULD LOVE TO OWN THIS CAR BUT HAVE TOO MANY THINGS AROUND HOME TO SPEND MONEY ON THIS YEAR. WOULD HATE TO GO INTO DEBT FOR A CAR. HOPE A MEMBER GETS IT.smile

I thought I would chime in and correct a lot of misinformation and anxiety over these cars. I will supply as much factual information as I know.

The cars are the property of Estate of Hillar Pinna and are being sold by the Estate in an effort to settle the affairs of our dear friend Hillar.

The proceeds from the sale will go to settle the affairs of the Estate and any surplus will be shared equally between Hillar's surviving parents. Each parent has a lawyer representing them.

The 2+2 is a 400 sbc with 400 THM contrary to what the ad indicates.  In 1970 all factory 400 sbc were 2bbl enines with single exhaust rated at 265 HP. I think everyone knows That Clint Scherger was the previous owner and Clint upgraded to a factory 4bbl 300 HP intake and added a quadrajet. When the car arrived in Toronto Hillar had it taken to JB Racing where further improvements werer made. A Posi was added and a shift kit installed, a tach was added, Petronix ignition added and a custom built dual exhaust with H pipe was added finnished with Chevelle SS chrome tips. Hillar drove the 2+2 three or four times before he died and I was also fortunate enough to pilot this torque monster. This car is tight and strong, easily one of the most powerful cars I have ever driven which burns plenty of rubber if this matters to you. An appraisal was done on this car after it was finished up and I recall that it was set at $13,000 (October 2009). The car has not been driven any distance since then. GM Canada Documents show this car to be one of less than 300 with the LF6 400 sbc out of a total of 1,329 built. Car was made on April 10 1970 and shipped April 15th to Prince George BC, Schultz Pontiac Buick.

The Laurentian was previously owned by a member on board here as well. Since Hillar has owned the car it has suffered from chronic overheating consequenty it has not been driven any distance since 1999. It has the LS4 engine which was factory single exhaust but duals have been added for additional power. Hillar admitted that the 2+2 400 had a much nicer sound. To the best of my knowledge the car presently has no heater core and is set up in bypass mode. The car as pictured is missing the 454V emblems which Hillar had installed with two sided tape. The engine is not detailed in any way and has hidious yellow Accel wires. The Pontiac Dog Dish  caps are also missing. The last time the car was appraised Hillar told me it was $12,000. (October 2009 I believe)

I also remember Hillar telling me the heater core leaked in the Laurentian. He had it bypassed.

This bears out the credibility of my earlier post as I know the Estate has the appraisals in hand.

Caveat emptor: Both parents will need to agree on final selling price, name listed as contact is Hillar's 1/2 sister's husband who openly admits to knowing nothing about these cars.

I am sorry if I sounded rude, but in my opinion they are too much money. I am not sure how relevent a two year old appraisal is and for what purpose the appraisal was performed ie: insurance, estate, sales tax or ? my guess is five or six thousand each maybe seven thousand if somebody really wanted one you did describe them as needing work

I agree, with the current market, looking for large dollars, may not happen. If Clint was the previous owner of the 2+2, it would be a decent car, he knows his Pontiac's.
