Thanks Carl. My PS control valve needs attention, as does a friend's similar '64 RHD, could you see if the book shows two different handed parts or if the same part is used whether left or right?   I'm in Southern California in two months time and will be able to bring either service parts or rebuilt units back in my baggage as required.

Thanks for remembering Carl.

It would still be interesting to know what the book says but I spoke with a guy in Australia who says a rebuild kit will work while a complete replacement LHD unit would need modifying, so I guess there are two different part numbers. Since the rebuild kit is available at Classic in Huntington Beach on my trip next month I thought I'd go with that option. It will save me cost and weight in my luggage too.
