what do I need to hook up my 1970 350 Pontiac to my 1980 Grand Prix - looks as if the throttle linkage is different, vac connections on intake are also different. Can I delete the smog equipment also?
The items you are asking about are typical of any engine swap. I suggest that you fab up what you need to make it work. Speed shops often have nice pieces for throttle linkages that can work on universal basis for example. What engine is in GP, 301? and I assume you have a 1970 blue block Pontiac engine.
Check local laws regarding smog equipment, usually not recommended to discard it, of course smog controls on a 1970 Pontiac are minimal anyway.

BJ don't know where you live {no bio filled out} BUT if your in Ontario, especially the Golden Horseshoe, then you'll have to have all the 80's stuff on the older engine!!! The Emm. police [MOE] go by "whichever is newer" rule of thumb!! Newer engine in old car = all the emm. crap for that engine. Older engine in newer car = all the newer crap on old engine, untill they change it again [next week or tomorrow] & don't tell anyone!!!!!! AGAIN
