Does anyone know what replacement wiring harness for my interior I can use for my 66?? Would the Chevelle work, or a GTO, Tempest, LeMans work better because of the similarities with the dash!! Also, the cables for my heater and fan are shot, does it matter where they're from (chevelle or gto) ? And, I've seen face plates for the dash of a gto which resemble mine, but front what ive pulled apart, my face plate is one piece with the surrounding plastic dash! Right above the ash tray mine is melted from a prolonged cig burn sometime in its past and it needs replacing!! Anyone fill me in? Thanks

Your heater control is GTO. I am not positive but I think the cables etc will be the same. I am pretty safe saying Chevelle heater stuff will not work.

Your dash is pretty much GTO too but I'm not so sure the wiring is the same. I doubt that it is. There was someone on here who posted a while back saying he had used a GTO harness and done some slight changes to it to make it work.

Is your harness that bad? I always willingly spend time repairing rather than replacing. I am a fan of original wiring harnesses although many guys say they should be replaced at that age.

same problem with my 65. I ended up using GTO interior harness (except for the console light) and chevelle engine compartment harness.. and having a schematic of each type of car helped.. but the color codes were consistant and the same.
heater cables should be the same as the goat as well.. I didnt have to replace them and my chevelle is long gone, so I'm pretty sure they're the same, but not positive. 65SSSD would know for sure.

It might be easier to just fix the damaged portion of your harness.

I may need to fix it myself, but after 45 years of guys putting new stereos, changing tachs, putting in their own horn and reverse light switchs, adding secret ignition push buttons, it's a little messy under there!!! Thanks for ur suggestions!

I have a 66 harness here I think that isn't too bad. There were some splices for a stereo if I recall. Those heater controls are brutal though. They are almost all busted by the cable. I have a set like that here for sure. PM me if you are interested.
