58 Pathfinder 2 door Wagon-Should I?

Howdy guys I've been mulling this one for a long time but it just won't leave my mind. I never was a huge fan of the 58's but this one seems to have quite niice lines

Basically the question is if I buy it will I be able to find any parts for it at all?

 3rd car down.

Do it. I'll relieve you of that GP that's annoying you cause you never seem to get it done...

Carl old buddy, I've been kind of contemplative lately and a bit quiet on this forum because I turned 55 the other day and I've been seriously thinking of giving my notice to the Government job I've had for about 31 years.  I think I'm going to do it next week.  This winter will finally give me the time I figure I need to get the old Grande girl going  for next summer if I don't get sucked into another career right away.

So basically I'm going to find out if I still I have it in me to finish anything this winter.

Needless so say If i give it up (I hope not!) or if I get tired of driving the old girl you will be the first guy I will let know that its up for sale.  You have flown the flag for these cars for many years and now that you are getting up there too you might need an actual comfortable car to drive instead of a "compact"

The wagon would be just kinda the third project in line.

As you know, I turned 54 today. I plan to give my one year "intent to reduce time at work" notice next week. When I turn 55, I can't retire but I plan on less hours there, more hours in the garage here.

I only have one project car in mind for me in the future. I've had the hots for a number of cars but I am saving the money for a 66 GP. It has to be a big block car and although I would prefer a 4 speed, I can live with an auto, although the reality is if I buy an automatic it may be come a 4 speed. I have said the next project car I buy will be my last one. That could change, but I have to stick with the next one being a 66 GP at least.

Thanks for thinking of me if it gets to the point you want to sell.

I hope you get the  car you want Carl before you get too much older. There are still a few of them out there!

If you're not a purist I know where there was (recently anyway) a 396 66 Custom sport convertible (with TH400) that a guy could easily make into an pretty cool 66 Grande Convertible. (Phantom that is.)

Bit of a basket case but hey...

Happy brithday by the way!

We've already got our convert, my wife's T/A. I am set on a GP hardtop, love the styling. Thanks anyway and thanks for the birthday wish as well.

Hey Ken , how many of these have you ever seen ? Parts mite be hard to find and in what shape? My personal opinion is if your not a big fan of a car and It's a big resto than it will rot away in your yard. my 2cents

Yeah that is the car and you are totally right considering my recent track record of finshing anything. Also my sweet wife's patience would be sorley tested yet again.

I was really just hoping somebody out there would get their interest up and snag it out from under me  It has to be one a very few of that style that still exist and you actually could pick it up pretty cheap right now I suspect.

If I remember right the missing trim was in the car and it was quite complete really just a bit decrepit.

No, these other guys are all wrong Ken. I think you should buy this project, plow headfirst into it, get overwhelmed by it and sell off some of your other cars........ Well, at least one of them
