Factory correct hood paint colour?

OK guys... another question for ya, that I've always wanted to know!

What is factory correct for 67 Beau's?

...Body colour on the underside of the hood? ...or satin black?

(I know Chevelle was black for sure)

Thanks in advance,

Kyle

67 was body colour for sure. As was the trunk and firewall.

Are you sure? I thought it was semi gloss black with overspray around the edges in body colour for 67...

You are correct,  same as chevelles.  Satin black,  then the car was painted, so you get some overspray around the edges. 100% sure

Right on!!! ...mine is satin black too.  I wasn't look'n forward to having it painted red (if that was what was correct).

...Now I can put that $$$ towards a new set of F-70 Redlines! biggrin

Dad's.jpgSorry if I posted wrong info. I am going to have to lift the hood of my dad's car and check. In this picture it looks like it used to be capri cream with many years of dirt over it. I will have to look at it again.

Low gloss black on the underside of the hood, with body colour overspray as described by ak_67sd. I think what Steve C was trying to say is that the rest of the underhood (firewall really), plus floors and trunk are all body colour. That was true through 1968. By 1969 they went black on the firewall & used the gray / black spatter paint in the trunk.
