I remember those Borden's Divco's around Woodstock when I was a kid.
So who spent the $100k on the resto?

One of the Borden's?

Ray, around where I grew up, Stoney Creek Dairy ran a fleet of them for home delivery through 1979. All throughout the 1960s & 70s I can still hear the sound of the Continental 4-cylinder & the tranny whine. The driver could sit and use conventional controls, or he could (and often did) stand and use the hand controls. It cost mom 25 cents for 5 milk tickets to be used at school for a 1/2 pint of homo milk every day at school. The only competition in the area was the regular sound of the inline six Ford that Silverwoods used. Again, through 1979 I could still hear the approach of the F500 chassis-cowl.

Imagine to my surprise when I visited the automotive flea market at the International Center in Mississauga back in 1993, only to find a really cool brochure for 1965 featuring Ford & Mercury trucks. The cover was taken at Exhibition Stadium with trucks that look totally familiar to the old truck spotter that I was. I opened the brochure and saw, not s truck like I saw, but the very truck I saw for better than a decade, brand new and in the brochure! Maybe I am easily excited.

About 10 years ago I saw an article in the National Post about a Divco for sale in Pickering. It was the very one used in the 1975 Hudson Brothers show, complete with psychedelic paint! I wonder where it went?

Every fall at Hershey there are 2 or 3 Divcos that show up. They are all done up as milk wagons. The owners also dress the part. It makes a very attractive package.

Bordens was a US company which bought a number of local dairies in Ontario.

Yes Pete my Dad worked with my Uncle on the Horse wagons when he was a boy. In fact the junk collector used his Horse and wagon into the early 60's in my part of Toronto, kept the horses in a barn just north of the Danforth off Donlands, a bit south of the Dairy. Sealtest eventually bought Donalands Dairy and moved production to their main plant. A high rise senior Complex and some nwe Condos are going in where the Donlands Dairy once was. There was a Compay store at the front of the plant and we would go there and get our ice cream cups and what not. The main Borden's plant on Lawrence in Scarborough is now Pharmlet.

OK getting back on the "COWPATH" was Borden's a US & Canadian co.??? I kinda thought it was Canadian, as I don't remember advertisements on US stations. I do remember "Donlands Dairy" in Toronto having a fleet of these, but won't tell you that I also remember what they had 'before' the DIVCO

Ray, you let the "Cat out of the Bag" there, I remember the horse's on Donlands Dairy & the horse could do the route by it's self, knew every stop, & the Ice wagon, & the "sheeny" man as my Mom called him?? He would call out "Rags & Bones" as the horse & wagon went down the street, picking up JUNK!!! GOD I feel old!!!!!!

Yes the "Sheeny Man" I was trying to be politically correct. My dad told me the same thing about the horse knowing the route. My Uncle was apt to carry a flask so the horse would have to take them back to the stable on his own many a cold winter days. I'm on the edge of Old Pete!
