1968 Chevrolet Biscayne, 396 L78, 4-speed, 12 bolt posi w/4.10's

This is a clean original 1968 Chevrolet Biscayne L78 396 4-speed clone.  This car started life with a 6 cylinder and a powerglide.  It has been carefully cloned into a ground pounding solid lifter L78 car with a 12 bolt posi and 4.10 gears.  This is a very solid  original car with all of it's orignal body panels still in place.  Interior is original to the car and is clean and presentable.  No rips or tears in the seats.  I replaced the dash as it was cracked and the package tray since it was in bad shape.  The rest is all original.  The car has solid floors with no rust what so ever.  There are however two small half dollar spots in both lower quarters that need to be addressed when the car is repainted however nothing alarming at this point.  The car looks to have been repainted before in it's original color of Ash Gold, however the paint job wasn't very good and needs to be redone in my opinion.  All the chrome trim, bumpers, grille and emblems on the car look very nice.  They shine brite and don't have any signs of pitting.  The car has is share of parking lot bumps and bruises.  It was built to be driven and it has, however it is a very presentable car that would make a great driver this spring/summer.  You wouldn't believe the attention this car gets at the local cruises.  The car is unbelievably fast, and you can smoke the tires 1st through 3rd.  The car has 3" exhaust into flowmaster mufflers that dump at the rearend.  Everyone will here you coming with this beast.

Engine

The engine runs great, doesn't smoke and starts the first time everytime.  It never overheats and will run 180 degrees all day long

1967 Solid Lifter 2 bolt 396 with correct L78 heads, 6223 crank, dimple rods, TRW pistons, snowflake intake and solid lifter cam - Rear Main Seal leaks and needs to be replaced

Full Roller Harland Sharp Rocker Arms

Hooker Super Competition Ceramic Coated Headers into 3" Flowmaster exhaust

Holley 4 corners carburator

MSD HEI Distributor

Transmission

The transmission shifts firm and smooth.  No funny noises and easily runs through the gears.  Clutch and Pressure plate feel great and hook with getting on it.

Borg Warner Super T-10 - 1977

Hurst Super Shifter

Lakewood Scattershield

Suspension/Rear End

The rear end looks, feels, and performs flawlessly.  No leaks, whines a little on deceleration - nothing alarming however

12 Bolt Rear End, Eaton Brute Force Posi., Richmond 4.10 gears

Big Block Springs all the way around - air shocks in the rear

Miscellaneous

Power Steering works properly

Brakes front and rear operate and function as designed

All guages and lights work along with wipers and washers.

All belts and hoses are in good shape

Originally a six cylinder car so it is a clone. I really like it smile.gif , but if the reserve is that high it is a bit much. That should be more like the Buy It Now price. Let the auction run and market forces will prevail.
