Good for you. Probably room for vintage air in there too, then it should have everything you like. Enjoy and drive that thing.

That car is absolutely gorgeous and the rarity makes it that much more appealing.

Very nice car.

I had a 1970 Leman's Sport back in the 80's, was a great car. My car had the 400 blue block and the hole interoir was crushed velvet.

Thank you for the kind words (of encouragement) and good advice
After losing the Strato Chief in 2010, there did not seem to be a car worthy of its replacement..  I bought and sold 7 cars, and they did not scratch the itch..  lol
I had admired the Lemans Sport, before, but the circumstances did not work out..  The Pontiac engine was a distraction to me, as I had no experience with them..confuse The restoration by Keith Telford and the CANADA built, low production was a attraction... The Lemans was priced about 50% less than a Chevelle in the same condition, and that was a attraction wink
Steve Fick was kind enough to offer it to me, before advertising again, and the car shows, the care and effort, he has put in it, the last 5 years...  He even changed the water pump, and alt, and pinion seal, knowing he was selling it... I have all the paperwork, and the original engine, and the present engine, is not well know to you, but its a bad ass bullet...  lots of cubes, cam, and headers, and gears..   almost as fast as Strato Chief.....
I am looking up info on the net, and it seems switching it over to BBC would be easy!
Chris  I hope to be there for the BBQ with it  and Ken (67BBSD) you have first dibs on it... and More Power  you are adopted but my "kids" can't drive it...  and yes I know Vintage Air has a kit for it and BBC power  wink

I feel terrible now that I got the 454 from you Carl, it's only been in my LeMans since October. I was feeling so bad that I approached a guy this morning who had a 98 GMC 3500 who was picking up junk. I said to him that sounds like a big block to which he said Oh yes. I offered him $1,000 for the truck but he wouldn't take it.  Anyway I have done all the research on putting the 454 in the LeMans so it is easy. Once you locate an engine I'll be there to help. Wasn't that car originally Silver? Will you paint it the original colour as well ?

Honestly Carl, as much of a fan as I am of Canadian Poncho big blocks, it would be a shame to see you change that car away from the original look considering it's rarity.

Nothing like the torque of a BB pontiac [even if it's a Cdn/ built one] My 389 has "bags" of torgue & will spin the tires in 2nd. gear with 2;67's in the rear end, was really hairy with 3: 42's Neat car carl ENJOY!!!!

As long as you don't rev it like a Canadian Poncho engine it will last Carl.

Really?   so thats why, it goes kinda flat over 6500? confuse

maybe needs more gears, and lower rpm?

At 6500 the bump you feel won't be a speedbump, it will be your crankshaft that you just drove over.
