Looks very nice. Nice to see another 327 out there. And to think it's in my city and I've never seen it. (Not sure what he was thinking re the mirrors?)

Its amazing.....  I love to have a appraisal like that...

The mirrors are kinda funky  and the engine is far from original   I guess I expect perfection from appraisals that high    and the guys at the tire shop should be dropped kicked for sticking weights on the outside of chrome wheels  and thats it  I'm  done     except for the spring antenna

appraised value is usually done for insurance purposes,  so that if the car burns to the ground, he will be fully insured.

The appraisal has nothing to do with real or current market value.

That is why the appraisals are so high,  and as an owner you want them high, in case of an accident.

I know that every appaisal i have ever seen done on a classic car is about double or more what the actual market value is.

It seems like the only people that get appraisals done are the ones that cant fix their cars themselves, so they better get the insurance to back them up.  Or if thier insurance company FORCES them to get one.biggrin

At least thats what i have found around this area of the country.  just my opinion.

All true, but ... my Silver Wheels coverage required an appraisal, before I was given insurance.

My appraisal is pretty much market value IMHO - at about 50% of this one, and I agree, the only reason I had it appraised was for insurance. Without the appraisal, I think the insurance would peg the value if a 1966 Anything at scrap metal prices.

Based on what I've seen though, I'm not sure I could replace mine for its appraised value. You never know until the money and pink slips change hands I guess.

it is always in the best interest of the insured to have an appraisal prior to a loss no matter if the insurer requires one or not-an appraisal is "fair market value" "insurance agreed value" and often includes applicable taxes, in this part of the country.

now back to regular programing
