**NEW INFO - Circumstances have changed.  Recently I advertised that I could not go any lower on this car, but there have been some changes that force me to change my mind. NOW LOOKING FOR BEST OFFER**

This is not an intentional attempt at misleading anybody, but necessity forces this change. This listing will have to expire on Jul 2, 2012; going on vacation and I don't have access to computer's when I travel.

For sale is a 1976 Chevrolet Malibu Classic Olympic Edition. Built in very limited numbers (only 1017) to celebrate and commemorate the 1976 Montreal Olympics. Original owner from Apr '76 til Jun '08.  Second owner from Jun '08 til Jun '10, and it's been mine since Jun '10.  This car was aggressively undercoated from new by the original owner, so the entire car and the underside is completely rust free. 350 cubic inch LM1 V8 mated to THM350 3 speed automatic transmission.  Factory optional 4 bbl carb.  18275 original miles. (that's 500 miles per year on average!)  99% original, including the original owners manual and recommended maintenance schedule. New tires, exhaust, coil springs and tube shocks, plugs, wires, oil, and filters. Drives like a dream and floats down the road. I have the original bill of sale, a GM Canada historical report on the car showing the original order and build specs and a Silver Wheels approved professional appraisal dated Sept 23, 2008 showing an appraised value of $20,340. A new appraisal this year will definitely increase the value.  Looking for best offer over $12,000.  Any questions or for more pictures, or to arrange a viewing and test drive, please contact through Kijiji e-mail.  This is an absolutely unique car that you won't meet on the road everyday, works flawlessly and if you do ever need any parts for it, they are all readily available.  A perfect pleasure to drive and show.  The car is in the Annapolis Valley.  Thanks for looking.

This car looks good. I never thought the stacked rectangular headlamps added much to the front end styling of these cars but the rest looks great. I know there's at least one of these in my area.

Rat Boy says whoever appraised that at over 20 grand should have their license revoked.

RAT BOY, MOST OLDER CARS ARE APPRAISED FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES, NOT RESALE VALUE. THE APPRAISAL IS USED TO PUT A $ FIGURE ON A CAR SO IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT THERE WOULD BE A LIMIT ON HOW MUCH TO SPEND TO REPAIR IT BEFORE IT WAS WRITTEN OFF. CLEAN SHEET METAL, LABOUR TO INSTALL IT, AND A REPAINT ARE NOT CHEAP THESE DAYS. SOME VEHICLES HAVE PARTS THAT ARE NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO AQUIRE. TRY FINDING NOS OR GOOD STRAIGHT AND RUST FREE SHEETMETAL FOR A FULLSIZE CP FOR EXAMPLE. THE OWNER OF A CAR IS GOING TO WANT HIS CAR REPAIRED TO THE SAME CONDITION IT WAS IN BEFORE AN ACCIDENT. SO AGAIN, IT IS NOT A RESALE FIGURE. IT IS TO PUT A LIMIT ON HOW MUCH TO SPEND TO RETURN AN INSURANCE COMPANIES CUSTOMERS CAR TO HOW IT WAS BEFORE AN INCCIDENT. MOST PEOPLE WRONGLY ASSUME THAT AN APPRAISAL IS DONE TO DETERMINE THE MARKET VALUE OF A CAR. IT'S NOT.

Rat Boy understands, still says write it off in case of accident.

not true-an appraisal is there to establish an independant view of A.C.V. (Actual cash value) sure appraisers often "build" a little more in (10-20% + taxes) to help you replace a vehicle in case of total loss---but in an insurance company's view A.C.V.  is current market value. If damage exceeds value the car is considered a total loss and written off

Seriously?  With only 18,000 miles on it?  I think it would be a deal at $5000, but I guess I'm not that up on the market.

What says Rat Boy?

Rat boy says that desireable specialty models in the years 73-77 rarely pass $10,000, cars such as GTO, Can Am, Buick GS, Olds 442, Chevelle SS. I could see maybe $7,500 due to condition and low miles. It is cute.

7500.00 is a paint job, and a set of rally wheels  wink

I think 10-12 is closer  BUT   it does not matter with NO ONE buying

Only people with money are children of Elected officials

         and they drive Foreignbiggrin

If it's as good as it looks and I wanted it I'd be willing to spring for $9 or 10K. What can you get for that money in a decent old driver these days?
