1968 chevelle neutral safety with a 4speed?

here is a pick of the 69 unit, maybe the same for 68.  It is called a clutch start switch and mounted to the clutch pedal. The pedal should have a pin   on it for the switch, I have to do the same thing to mine. You push the clutch pedal down and it completes the circuit to start.   But you probably know all this already.

does anyone have any pictures of a factory correct neutral safety for a 68 chevelle with a factory 4speed/

did these cars come with a factory installed neutal safety on the pedal?

friend is having troubles locating and installing this switch.

And i know that 67s did not have them,  but i think 68 is the first year.

Any help or input on this subject,  pics, etc, will really help out

I'll go out on a limb here and say there is no switch on the pedal until 1969.

I can likely check it out later tonight to prove or disprove that statement.

I think I would secound that Carl. I have been reserching the same thing for my 69 and all that I have seen on other posts are that not on 68 but started in 69. But still could put the 69 one on for safety.

I haven't put one on my Canso but I debated doing it. I don't think it would be that hard to do. I fabbed one up on my 6 speed Impala because the kids where 6 and 8 when I did that conversion and it scared me having the car parked on the hill by the house. If they started that car it would either end up in the pond or against a tree I figured.

I had a 68 with 327/4 speed Saginaw...Dont remember it having a neutral safety switch. Have a question though....Does your have the shifter mounted to the trans or to the cross member?..Mine was on the cross member, always thought that was weird and lead to some missed shifts.
