Help Cant get the top down

After a number of years, my switch eventually wore out. As a result I was using an insulated screwdriver to short the contacts, whenever I wanted to raise or lower the roof. (I went on with this for a number of years.)

you might have to Jump the switch to get the top down for a few days,
as long as the pump did not cause the switch to burn out..

new ones readily avail on Ebay and thru AMES performance.

think they are about in the 75 dollar range.

Or you can get a toggle switch from the auto parts store,  you will need one rated for at least 40 amps.  and needs to be a "momentary ON, Off, Momentary ON.  3 postition.

Did the "toggle" switch routine on a friends 69 Cutlass when his switch stuck in the down position after lowering the top. I had a H.Duty/3 way switch that returned to centre on it's own. Worked fine till he got new one, [think from Fusick's] around the $80 mark with the harness & plug & they mailed it to him from US!!!!!!

the up/down switch for a station wagon usually is the same and mounts in the same location in the dash

I'm assuming you are talking about the glass in the tailgate, not the wagon roof !!

A buddy with a 67 Parisienne convertible was unable to find a convertible top switch, and has used a station wagon rear glass switch for years.   They operate the same, one says "Top" while the other says "Rear Window".       Good luck in finding a proper switch, as I believe they are unique to 67, and unique to B body cars.   Other years and body styles may look similar, but are different.
