Amazing car and an amazing amount of work. (lots of tricky business to fix that much rust)  How long have you been at it?

Wow, I've been at mine for about 8 in between life's other priorities but it looks like you had a lot rougher car to start with as well . Great progress. You have talent!   Is it difficult to source parts over there?

It is a real beauty but it must be scary to drive such a wide old barge on English roads.

Everyone says that but, 18 wheel Arctic trucks, buses and trash trucks all get around fine and they are much bigger!! The Pontiac is only the same size as a Transit van really!! Also, everyone gets out you way anyways!!!

True enough!  I drove a Mercedes 9 passenger van all over Belgium and France back roads this summer and survived OK so it can be done even by a tourist but I sure would cringe at having to do any work on those lovely old fenders (wings?) again.  However, they are built to drive, so go for it!

As for the Bedford are they collectable in Britain?

yes wings!! Well done, no one seems to call them that anymore except here!! And yes, the Bedford's are highly collectable here, there really are none left, I've stripped the whole thing apart and have new old stock, wings, sills, arches, bonnet (hood?) and just about anything else you can think of in my collection! I've done most of the metalwork now and can post pics if you like!

Do you have any Bedfords over there? I love the shape of them, like a baby Chevy G-10. I almost imported a dodge Tradesman a while back but the curves of the Bedford won out!

No I never have seen any over here.  The weirdest thing I ever ran across in this neighbourhood was a 1959 era Panhard!  (Of course we cut it into a bush buggy)

The Bedford  lines really remind me of circa 1967-67 Chevy trucks.  I have a 69 so I'm a bit of an aficionado of those years myself. More pictures of it would be most welcome.  It looked to be a really solid van to start with.

Great photos! Thanks for sharing. The only Bedfords found here were Matchbox and Dinky toys from the 1960s!
