After much reading i think my trunk should be painted body colour and
not "trunk Splatter"
Am i correct ?

you are probably right, better things to do first and it would probably scratch up to fast.but when i saw this one i thought it would look good
The Corvair looks good but I don't think your car would be any better with body paint After 50 years who knows or cares....
I think the trunk looks great too.If you were going to restore your car and start sanding and making a huge mess again,then go for it.Trunk looks great the way it is,I wouldn't bother.
