Here is some pics of my newly restored Honeycomb wheels for the 1975 Grand Am, I purchased 4 new BF Goodrich Radial TA on sale, they are 225/70 R15. I thought I'd put them on these Polycast wheels. The 2 spare ones are for an older set of tires I could play with ... I will get them balanced and mounted tomorrow. I had to wash them, bead blast them, hand sand with a pad, wash them again then I primered the wheels ( I screwed up because I should have used a plastic promoter primer! ) At least I'm not restoring a Super Duty Trans Am. I did the backs first with Krylon classic grey and kept the red band in the middle for factory appearance but who's gonna see it you ask. Thanks to Robert who has the nicest 75 Grand Am, he suggested Krylon dull aluminium for the face of the wheels, I put a coat yesterday and a final one this morning. I am pretty happy with the result. All this at a cost of twenty bucks ! Some of these spray paint out there are close to 50$ a can !!!

Thanks guys, I have some nice used center caps Ray sold me but my trim rings are pretty rough, these items sells upward of 100$ ea. Also when restoring these rubber like faced wheels, never use a paint stripper, makes them crack ... One of my spare ones was previously stripped and this is what happened. BTW my fingers are still sore from sending so much.

my fav wheel of all time on Ponchos.....I hunted for a year to find some when I had my 76 Trans Am. I didnt care for the 5 spoke rallies. Those true Honeycomb wheels look gorgeous on Grand Ams,GTOs and Trans Ams. Nice job!!!!
