This TA was sold new at Brookdale Pontiac Buick LTD Jan-12-1976, so built in 1975. Any Winnipeger here know of this Dealership ? The car used to be silver and blak interior with very little options.
So far I removed the front seats, transmission, clutch and flywheel, by the way the pressure plate was ready to fall off (somebody had put incorrect bolts in it ie. too short and they were all loose, I mean I removed them with my fingers !) Also the flywheel bolts, loose.
When I first jacked the front of the car up, I noticed a buldge on the oil pan and knew right away that it had been caused by water/ice in the pan so I got real worried the 455 was going to be cracked. The cause of the water insertion was a rag stuffed in place to plug the distributor hole ( I found it in the trunk ). Tonight I removed the heads and got real lucky so far no cracked cylinders, the head bolts were also loose and not much water on the driver side but more on the passenger side, rain water made it's way through the carb, this carb is toast probably from having the shaker off for too long in the past ??? I filled all the cylinders with PB blast and LPS 2. The lifter valley is rusty too, hopefully they won't be too hard to remove.
For now this is what I've done so far, pics to follow, I worked outside after supper till 8pm and it's dark.

I took apart most of the interior, I removed the 455 from the TA yesterday and dismantled it this afternoon, the pistons and lifters came free without to much trouble, the block and crank are standard, no cracks or spun bearings ! Bonus !
