One of a kind and a real attention getter.
 
As far as I know its the only Kadett Rallye on the road in Canada.
 
Restored from the tires up this little gem sports the peppy 1.9 litre engine and the rare automatic transmission.  Transmission totally rebuilt, weber carb, pertronix ignition, 7 bladed fan, ignition switch relay mod.
 
New floor carpeting and seat upholstery.  No rust at all.  Floors are perfect in and out.  Newer exhaust system, all new rear bushings, reconditioned fuel tank. 
 
Shines up like a new penny.  Hate to sell it but its time to give my little Kadett a new family.  
 
Lots of shop manuals, spare parts and brochures etc to go along with the sale

These neat little cars made excellent GASSERS. They did well in the gasser classes back in the early 70's. Big John Mazmanian was one of the many that went from Willy's gasser's to Opel Kadett gassers. Wow so incredibly rare to see these cars period but to see them in this kind of condition........... even more wow. To those that do not know, these cars were made in Germany by GM for Buick sales. Opel was a long time GM brand in Germany. Cheers. George.

That is the nicest specimen I have seen in decades. I remember seeing cars like that back in the early 1970s when we were stateside.

Opels were almost non-existant in Canada until the Opel GT came out around 1970. After that you could see the odd Opel GT or Manta coupe, but the exchange rate as the 1970s progressed (devolved?) made them no longer viable. That is what lead to Isuzus being sold in the US as Opels around 1976. Opel had much more of a presence in the USA. Here in Canada were were big on Vauxhall Vivas, Crestas, Epics & Envoys.The last straw was the Firenza.

 

I think the old term the Big Three used back then was Captive Imports. Cars like the Dodge Colt, Plymouth Arrow & Cricket, Buick Opel, Mercury Capri & Pantera, Vauxhall Viva through Pontiac-Buick, Epic through Chevrolet-Oldsmobile....

This car is down to $2700. Seller says the caliper issue is it locks up after a few applications. If it's the caliper they are $35 at Rock Auto.  It looks to be near mint. Since they were sold in Canada by Buick I feel a Buick aluminum 215 with a 4 or 5 speed would be a natural fit. smile
