I personally know people that have used this exact set up and they love it. Will last forever as opposed to tube headers, they fit perfect, look good and make real power. Win win win.

Long Stroke is right on with his summary of those manifolds. When you think about it, an inline six has 6-into-1 exhaust manifolding. Sure it is simple and easy to package, but once your foot goes into it or you get the revs up they act like a dam. The pair of 3-into-1 manifolds help with back pressure and scavenging.
I have those manifolds on my low deck 292 made from a 250 block, a 292 crank and lots of expensive parts. I still haven't dropped it into my Chevelle. Paralysis by analysis...
One thing you will need to address is the heat riser & choke pull-off. The cast iron headers dont have the provision for the heat riser / choke pull-off so you will either need a manual or electric choke, plus you won't have intake manifold heat either. If you run the headers you should also think about an intake manifold as well and plumb it for hot water heating to keep the intake runners from frosting up. I have an Offenhauser 2X1 with hot water heating and have a pair of 2-barrel carbs to mount on it.

since mine is a "nice day" driver and my manifold riser has been frozen in the open position for years
the only thing i will have to worry about is the choke..
i will check into the fenton intake as well.

I have a similiar set up for my 235 or 261 that will end up in my 55 150 2 dr post. my Stuff is Fenton, cast headers and intake, should work sweet..
AND now I bought the 3 spd with OD from Carl S... so that should make for an all around great combo...
since I bought that setup.. AADD kicked in , and I havn't gotten back to it!

Cam, you win the award for best looking souped up six. I for one look forward to finally seeing and hearing your sweet six banger when it is done and running in your Chevelle. By the way Cam when do you figure the car will get finished. We need a grand opening celebration for your car and motor. how does the hot water heating work, this is something new to me.
Im going to start off with the exhaust manifold and then figure out what to do with the intake.

The water heat under the intake is not nearly as efficient as the original OEM/factory setup that directs exhaust heat directly to the same spot until the heat riser spring gets hot and closes off the redirection of the exhaust gases.
It gets much hotter much faster than the water heat ever will.
The water heat is better than no heat, but it takes quite a bit longer for my offy equipped to warm up in cold weather than my OEM equipped one does.
that explains it. will just have to allow longer warm up when it is cold.
but my stock one is stuck open anyway so im used to that
