so.. no bumpy hood in 66?

why I ask ,, a friend of mine owned a 66 SD convertible with the bumpy hood and it was a factory 396 car

he sold it many years ago then it was rolled..

he is looking for pics for me,  he said it is still on the farm of the owner that rolled it

I'm crossing my fingers it is still there love to see the data tag..

Nope, no bumpy hood on the 66 Beaumonts. They sure do look good with them though. (Also no checkered flags on the fenders.)

I love it

decent price if you have government job or are a policeman or fireman

I love the 425 HP 396

and every car should have fender flags

(my 2 cents- not worth a nickel)

Red on Red, the only 425hp 396 was the 66 Corvette engine right, pretty pricey house too.

Those magical 425-horse 396 engines are the same engine they rated at 375 horsepower. The truth is somewhere in the middle.

Nice car! Although I haven't actually seen the detail, the 2-spoke sport wheel was offered. It would be a cool touch to spin up a new horn button emblem on a CNC machine complete with a Beaumont arrowhead.

And certain 65 Impalas too I think, but I've been wrong before!

 65 Corvette had the 396/425 --- 66 had the 427/425

Carl - I have heard that about impalas too

'John' the owner owns/runs/manages U.M.C. United Motor Collision in St. Catharines - he has owned the car for years - finally completed a few years ago, his 'friend' owns Classic Car Collection or Connection (dealership) and rents a location from John -- I have never seen the car - he just mentioned that he had it once-- he lives out near Martindale Pond in a fairly high end St Catharines location

          I agree biggrin

I guess the sellers thought is.....  "if you can afford it"   you can afford to correct it....

The holes drilled for the wrong emblems are a big dollar fix

I'm surprised there is no mention in the ad of an "appraised" value on this 66 SD ragtop.

For wanting that kind of $$ change,...I would think he got it appraised.

Not to drift off thread but... a while back there was a fella selling NOS Beaumont poverty caps. Far too nice (and too expensive) for my old car, but they would not have been out of place on this car.
Do we know where this car ended up Carl?

how about David Lewis' 67 SD396 rag when he struggled to get low 20's for it -- or Bill's 68 SD396 rag for 31 ? clearly the seller's are all over the map with pricing - my old hardtop is posted at $47,000

Hopefully some day he will be a member.

For what it's worth...there was a time when I didn't like the additional SD trim or steelies. I have totally revered my opinion in both cases now-a-days.resize.JPGbenchmark.jpg
