I would call that car a Batwing, not a Bubbletop. It looks nice just the same.

Yep, that's not a bubbletop. As most of you know there was no way you could get a bubbletop roof in a post sedan.

I like the car, but I'd probably injure myself in a mad rush to remove the fender skirts. bleh

The owner uses 'bubbletop' to attract you to the ad-then in the ad says not a bubbletop but 'rare' two door post. All 61 bubbletops were actually just the two door hardtop model - 62 wnen called a 'bubbletop' gets the 61 roofline because the other hardtop is the 'formal roof' simulating the convertible top

I agree - lose the fender skirts

No, its an impala 2dr post,  they did make them,  very very rare.  the US production figures are only a few thousand roughly.  If its a canadian build i would take a guess and say production would have been around 500 or so,  but that is just an educated guess,  i sure you could look it up.

I remember that car from the Halifax area 15 - 20 years ago when it was a minty-original looking car.  Looks like it succumbed to the pastels fad of the time...

COMPLETE RESTORATION IN 2007

Wrong... complete customization in 2007... like I said it was a nice original rare Impala 2 door sedan back then... kinda ugly now IMHO.

I have seen the car, and although it does not have the original air in the tires it is worth at least 15k.

Me too! I don't always hate fender skirts,,, they can look fine on the right car but not on a two door sedan.

I personally love fender skirts and always have but not with rally wheels or any kind of mags. Fender skirts only look good on a car with original wheels, original wheel covers and white wall tires. I never understood fender skirts on a car with mag wheels, just too odd looking. Sweet looking 61 Chevy other than the wheels and being an ultra rare coupe, just makes it all the sweeter. I agree with Carl on the 348/4 speed but i would love this 61 even with a 235 six and three on the tree. Cheers. George.

It looks like a really nice car. It would make a really good sleeper because it looks like a six cylinder kind of car.

Here's my take on fender skirts,,,

This 61 Impala looks great with fender skirts...

Here's a 61 sedan that's getting a 780hp 409,,, I can't imagine fender skirts on this one.

I've always felt fender skirts looked great on certain models of cars and on others not so good. The comment about skirts, original caps and white walls as a package makes a lot of sense.

No, but I wish it was. It's being built as a drag only car by one of the guys on the 348/409 forum.

The car should hit the track first thing in the spring and it should run deep into the nines.

I like the clean white semi-stock look of this car.
