Are you kidding me, look at the styling on that car, what a beauty. I said it before and I'll say it again Buicks have the  best ride of any GM line and we all know what my preferred GM luxury make is.

Total agreement with the boys here. Buick's rule and the quality was excellent. Solid well built cars that always exuded style and luxury. My dad had a lowly mid size 1967 Buick Special sedan, that he bought new and even that car was amazing. My dad's only Buick and that car had it all happening. Looks, quality, reasonable power and economy with the cast iron V-6, quite, excellent ride for a mid size and excellent dependability. I remember that Buick well and learned how to drive on it. My dad gave me the car around 1984-1985 and like an idiot i sold the car a year later. Buick's are sweet. Cheers. George.

I remember reading that Buicks were subject to more quality control testing than Buick and Oldsmobile.

I had a 67 Electra 225 4dr HT back in the mid 1970's. It was much nicer than the Olds 98 I had a few years later. The Buick had a 430ci and could still lay rubber with six adults in the back seat and four in the front.

.....Buicks were quality no question. Our family car after the 58 Biscayne was a 65 Wildcat sedan, 401 cube. 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. Reverb radio and very confortable cloth seats made that car a dream on the road riding on a 126" wheelbase. I have a 66 Wildcat 2 door ht full load with a/c , power vent windows etc waiting to get done, ahh when am I going to do all these things ? I also restored and sold a 65 Electra 225 convertible.

Back when nearly all cars had drum brakes, Buick made some of the best, if not THE best of the Big Four automakers. That car might have 12" cast iron or 13" front drums, finned and made of aluminum. Out back probably 12" cast iron, finned drums. I have a Motor Trend test of 4 different full-size (they called them standard back then) 1969 4-door sedans. They test a Bonneville, Newport Custom, Delta 88 & Wildcat. The Buick blew the others away in braking performance, even rivaling the disc brake cars. Buick also offered bigger brakes through the trailering packages. The awesome drums last through the 1970 big cars.

In those days, each GM division ran their own engines, differentials, sometimes brakes, but shared basic rooflines and inner structure and cowl. Buick had different rear geometry than other divisions.

That 66 would have the last of the high-torque nail valve 425 engines. For 67 they went to 430 with new head configuration.

Do you recall the prices of those 4 cars, the Buick would have been the most expensive I imagine.
