I NEED to find: 68 Beaumont SD396 Help Please!

Hello.

My name is Doug. I have desperately been looking for a 1968 Beaumont SD 396. I have searched Canadian and American eBay, Kijiji, and other classified sites and I haven't been able to find any that were in half-decent shape.

The story,

My father's 50th birthday is coming up. He had a 68 SD396 Beaumont when I was 2-5 years old, but had to sell it because of a divorce. Long story short, he sold it to a buddy of his who still has it to this day. This friend is not willing to sell it at the present time, and I would LOVE to surprise my dad by getting him one again.

I am 19 years old. I am looking for a running, decent shape beaumont between $10000 and $25000. I have already made arrangements to get money, and with the help of family members and friends, I know I'd be able to reach it.

Basically, I stumbled upon this forum and am asking for any help. If anyone finds one, or knows of one, I would really appreciate any response at all to this post.

My father is my hero and I want to give him the best birthday present I possibly can. I know a lot of people say that this is ridiculous but it's what I want to do for him. So please, help me if you can!

Thank you for taking the time to read this! And I appreciate any and all help!

I have attached a picture of the car the used to have.

-Doug

Back about 15yrs ago I think I was at the cruise in St Thomas with my 68 and I saw another 68. I talked to the guy that owned it and he said he bought it from a guy on his street that was getting divorced. I have a picture of my car with his somewhere,I'll have to do some digging. I thought that picture of it in driveway you posted looked familiar.

Oh that's a very cool story! I can't believe you recognized the car and have a picture with yours beside it! That's awesome! And his birthday is on the 21 of this month. I didn't have much luck finding a car, and even though I wasn't going to present him with it for a few months, I am instead going to send him to the Chevy nationals drag races on labour day weekend in Indianapolis. And I've talked to the guy who owns the car that he used to own, and I'm going to borrow it for a few days to surprise him when he gets back from him trip. Much easier and he wouldn't have to kill me for spending that kind of money on him. Thanks for the help and nice posts! Much appreciated

  Hey Doug

Wish your Dad a happy birthday. I must say that there is no bigger fan of the 68 SD than Gord. I know the 68 SD was his favorite car and through the years has made several attempts at replacing it but to no avail.
I'm sure that he will appreciate the trip to Chevy Nationals in Indy.
