air breather, air horn interference recommendation 7043262

i have a set of 73 454 quadajet carbs that i want to put some aftermarket breathers on and they have a big honking air horn on the left front. anybody have experience with fitment issues. do i get a shallow base and cut a hole? base with a 2 in lip? any suggestions except a stock air breather because they are going on a crossram. not my pic but one off the net that looks exactly like mine

......never seen one like that. can't you just trim it down ? or get a spacer between the carb and air cleaner lifting it enough to clear.

Grab a van spacer, they used a 2" spacer under the air cleaner...any 70's to 80's chevy van.  Then you can use the standard drop base chrome air cleaner.

my mistake, yes i knew 455. on the cross ram i only can go up to a 9 in breather. carbs are 10" apart

this pic is only for mockup purposes, not the right carbs or engine. mind you its a 327 with camel hump heads

can that air horn be in the breather or does it have to be outside?
