I don't know much about these but, wouldn't that likely be a 400? (And if so, wasn't the 400 a small block?)

Pontiac blocks are all physically the same size.  Some people seem to call 400's and up as big blocks.

I guess technically because the crank is different in the 421 428 455 they are a big block Pontiac. At least so some say.

But yes, people typically call the US Pontiac V8's all big blocks and to me only the 3 above are.

At any rate this car listed must have been built with either a 350 or 400 Pontiac engine, correct? No other V8 engine choices?

Block discussion aside, this sounds like a pretty good deal on what's probably a 350 convertible. (These came with a reg six, OHC six, P350 and P400.)

If they're in really nice restored condition, 69 FB convertibles typically go for more money than this one, so maybe it has a few projects that are needed. Still, a great entry point ($), wish I could afford the time and space to make it my own!

Sad thing is if it were a Camaro convertible it'd cost another 10g's and be even a tad bit rougher.

I have a very tough true numbers matching 69 Firebird 350HO convertible as a future project and continuously watch the asking price for 69 birds and I am bit critical of how they are presented.

Yeah, that "out west" excuse saves me a lot of money... biggrin

My favourite, ever since my dad sold them new was the '68 (love the '67 too but for some reason the arrowhead sidemarker makes a difference to me... lol) in verdoro green... yep I like green.  Some day would like to get one, but probably won't happen as the prices seem to be still going up.  No prob, I can enjoy them from afar...

Physically, the 326 to 455 engines are basically the same. There is a maximum of about 40 lbs. difference between a 326 and a 455, the 326 being a bit heavier. Earlier blocks (pre-'67) are heavier, and the later they get, the lighter they get. The 400 was the biggest you could put in the Firebird for '69 (with the Ram Air III & IV options available) and the 428 was the biggest engine in '69.
