Trunk paint color

I'm back at helping dad do some more work on his 68 SD. We are having a hard time figuring out the interior trunk color. I am unable to find definitively if it is supposed to be body color or the splatter paint can anyone help us out?  Pics seem to vary as I look thru them.

68's have been reported as "both" splatter  and body colour      same with firewalls   some body colour or black

Must be a transition time ??

The 68s were body-coloured on the firewall and in the trunk. 1969 they switched to black firewall & spatter-paint trunk.

I don't know 68's, but yes, in the past there have been people post here saying their original paint 68's were spatter and people saying their original paint 68's were body colour.

Build date on the car would give a hint. Early production would be body colour assuming a change over.
