New Beaumont!

Hello folks, here's my new (to me) 1968 Beaumont,  is in pretty good shape (usually the ones you normally find here in Chile are rusted as hell)

It has a 283 (probably from a 67 impala I don't know for sure) New exhaust system (pretty loud, I'm planning to change that) Chevelle 1969 tail lights, Hurst shifter, saginaw 3 speed trans, anti roll bar, worked suspension, disc brakes and rust free.

Needs a new paint job soon
Also the 283 needs to go, I'm gonna build a 350  in the future.
Already ordered a new HEI

Hope you like it!

It's always a pleasure to meet members from Chile. We have 4 or 5 others however they haven't posted on here in a long time. The street scene looks like it could have been taken in Canada with the colours of the leaves (looks like Autumn)!

Your car looks like a Beaumont Deluxe Sport Coupe as sold here in Canada for 1968, but I notice the GTA emblem on the front fender.  That emblem looks very much like the 250 crest that Chevy used on the 1967 Camaro, Chevy II & Chevelle with the optional 250 six cylinder.

That's pretty interesting, since this car was an original 6 cylinder.
Also here in Chile, the cars were re branded to "Acadian Beaumont GTA" instead of pontiac, so probably the GTA logo is the "250" logo modified.

That's true. The trunk and hood were fiberglass made, the cars arrived unassembled (to Chile) and due to government regulations they needed to have chilean made parts, so they replaced the original trunk and hood for the fiber Chilean made ones.

Thats interesting here they never were pontiacs. originally they were acadian beaumonts such as my 63, then they eventually dropped the acadian for the rest of the model run

Welcome!! Actually, Beaumonts were not Pontiacs here in Canada too, but the discussion has been locked.

Thanks

IS THAT CHROME TRIM ON THE HOOD VENTS ORIGINAL TOO? IT'S KINDA LIKE THE BIG BLOCK HOODS HERE, ONLY DIFFERENT.

I will get a close up of the GTA logo..

68 427 - The hood is the original one, I used to have another beaumont (a rusted POS) which had the big block hood (see my older post)

I don't know what happened with that cutlass since I bought the car with the "sport Wheel" .. BTW I'm looking for a new center cap for the steeringwheel, I don't like having the olds logo on a Beaumont.

Update: the 283 engine it's done, horrible sounding "crack" lead to an irreparable engine failure. New 305 being build from scratch as we speak, I wanted a 350 ci 320 HP setup, but I am on a limited budget. Anyway I heard that with new heads and nice carburetor I can get some juice from the 305.
