1973 was the hottest year for the 455biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

love  those  T A  s   but  a  70   is  in  my  top  list (  motor  wise )

 

priced  kind of  high  in  my  opinion

Nice cars. Just about bought a 455SD once, for $3000 back in about 1980. Loads of fun. Couldn't come up with the cash.

Looking at the interior on this one reminds me of why the '70's cars scare me as far as restorations/rebuilds. Miles and miles of plastic in those interiors.

My father bought a 77 GP new. White with red vinyl roof, red interior. Same thing. Miles and miles of plastic. Dash cracked, seats cracked, console, door panels, etc etc. The stuff that wasn't cracked was faded to 100 different shades of red. There's a ton of plastic on the outside too.

But that 455SD sure was fun to drive. The one I was looking at had highway gears and TALL michelin radials. There was a lot of tire wall flex in the corners that made the handling a little sloppy, but it still got around the corners surprisingly well, just hit the apex and roll in to the throttle. Passing someone was almost instantaneous.
