Clean 1962 Laurentian. Grafton, NB

What do you guys think it's worth? 18k? 8k?

I love unrestored cars and would take a mint original 4 door over a restored 2 door.

This is a rare and beautiful surviving piece of Canadian automotive history. A non-restored 1962 Pontiac Laurentian Sedan, with original paint, engine and interior. Starlight black over a gorgeous, deluxe red interior that is of museum quality. It is simply amazing how a 52 year old Canadian Pontiac has even made it this long without being junked, rusted out, crushed or modified, let alone, one that drives and looks like new. Originally purchased in Ontario, the Dealer's emblem is still perfectly intact on the rear deck lid. All the mechanicals have been gone through to make sure the car is safe and road worthy. all belts, lines, plugs, hoses- replaced. All systems drained and flushed. New shocks, brakes and whitewall radial tires. Hideaway stereo with ipod hookup in glovebox with 4 hidden speakers showing no modifications to the interior, which in a word is perfect! or at least as perfect as a 52 year old car with only 54 thousand miles can be. 9.9 out of 10!!! The glass all around is 9.9 out of 10!!! All the chrome and stainless is excellent. The body is excellent with very little work needed to make it perfect. I could have had the car painted but wanted to keep the original finish which has a nice patina and is still shiny and looks great. This beautiful car is equipped with a perfectly behaving 2 speed automatic transmission along with standard steering and brakes It drives like a dream with Pontiac's bullet-proof (190) straight six engine providing plenty of power. So quiet and smooth, at times you can barely tell if the car is idling. I could go on and on about the meticulous condition of the smallest details in this car. Everything from the perfect snow-white headliner and sunshades to the steering wheel, dash and upholstery, all wonderful and crack free. Everything from the horn to the lights to the blinkers to the heater works perfectly... and one of the best parts, is when you first open that driver's door at night and the dome light comes on. The only way I can describe it is that it looks like Christmas inside. It even smells wonderful. Anyone who knows vintage cars, knows what I mean. That new car smell from 1962 is still there! It is garaged here at my home in the Woodstock area, when not being driven on nice weekends. New Safety Certification through May of 2015 and ready for you to enjoy. I am happy to answer any of your questions and welcome pre-sale inspections

Very nice original car but it is only worth between $8000- $10.000 and will be  very hard to sell in this market. If it was a 2dr hardtop with a 327 it would be worth what he is asking.

What a time capsule. Wow!

Lovely car, but he'll have to remove that goofy chrome exhaust tip if if expects to get anything near 18K.

Hmmmmm....., that car was for sale in Ontario a few yrs ago. For signifigantly less. I bid on it, was told I owned it,sent a wire transfer, didnt hear back for 2 days and then was told it was sold to someone else. Car dealer I believe.I cancelled my wire transfer but I still think it was a flakey deal. It was around $3000.

Yes, it was a smokin deal that I knew would turn up on here again. It's definitely been cleaned and touched up since last time I was for sale. But I don't know how much has been done. Like most cars on kijiji the price is way outta line. That kinda ruins it for trying to REALLY SELL a car there. Great for fishing expeditions and showing your car,but not much for real results.

I suspect the owner will soon find out what the car is really worth and will lower his price. If it came down to something like 4 grand I might have to look into it.

Concerned by the dealer sticker(?) on the rear. Can someone blow up the pic and get a clear read on the dealer and town? Just thinking that stickers didn't come out until atleast the 70's. Would have expected a cast or plastic dealer emblem.
Paint looks real shiny for original.

Found at least two "Brown" Pontiac dealers in Ontario....Gus Brown (Whitby) and Grant Brown(Weston Ontario).

Did it have the original 190 six in it then? The add wreaks of a computer savy  person who doesn't know much about 62 Pontiacs or their value.

It looks a lot like the car that the seller said he would destroy if it didn't sell.  There was a thread on here about it a few years ago, searched for it but couldn't find it.

That is the car that came out of Ontario.  I thought it was a great car then because it was posted days after I had just bought a very similiar black 62' Strato Chief out of Kingston.  Mine had the same exhaust tip. The interior and paint in this car is far superior to mine and I paid $4900.  I thought I did OK but time puts rookie's and things into perspective.

Bingo! Bingo! I agree. I'm betting that's the car. It was a wanky deal. I was in touch with the owner a few times by email & phone. Agreed on the price, etc. Sent him a wire transfer as we had discussed and then it went south on me.

That's usually what happens to me. I find a great deal, at least I think a great deal, then 2 days later a better one shows up!

You did just fine with your Strato Chief by the looks of it!

I emailed the seller about the engine. He said it's the original 261 and corrected the ad.

Grant Brown, now that brings back memories. My dad bought a new 1967 Buick Special sedan with cast iron V-6 and automatic back in June of 1967. My mom and i went with my dad to pick up the car, i was 9 years old and excited that we were getting a new car. I remember us stopping at the Dairy Queen near by before we went home with our new Buick.  It seems like last week. I remember my dads 67 had that very same decal on the trunk lid of our 67. I still have all the original paperwork and owners manual for the car, including the Protect-o-plate and all the warranty paperwork. The Grant Brown salesman's name was Harry McKenna that sold my dad the car. Of course Grant Brown is long gone many years ago. As far as whether or not that vinyl decal is correct for this 62 Pontiac, it might have been sold as a used car later by Grant Brown and then the decal was put on. Cheers. George.

Yes Todd you need another  Canadian in the lane way , but I don't think this one is going  to go for a reasonable price.
